The world of music continues to support the people affected by the DANA


8 Desember de 2024 – More than a month after the hurricane that severely hit the Valencian Community, the world of music continues to show, once again, its most supportive side. Various artists and shows have already promoted initiatives to support the people affected by this catastrophe and to mobilise resources for the benefit of the Horta Sud Foundation, which will be in charge of distributing this aid among the associative movement in the area in an agile and equitable way, and new actions continue to emerge.

The renowned singer Natalia Jiménez has released a song, entitled Todo, with a message that transmits hope and optimism in the face of the recent climate emergency that has affected and continues to impact l’Horta Sud. All the profits generated by this release will be destined to ‘the reconstruction of life through the associative fabric’. The artist has shared an emotional message dedicated to the victims, accompanied by a video that has received hundreds of expressions of support.

For his part, the singer-songwriter Ismael Serrano will dedicate his concert on 6 December to the people affected by the DANA. There will be three shows: at 18:00, 19:30 and 21:30, which will take place at Café Libertad in Madrid. Tickets can be purchased both to attend in person and to enjoy the event online, and you can also collaborate with the cause through the Fila 0 option.

The musical Come From Away, known for its message of unity and hope, will hold a benefit performance on December 14 at 4:00 PM at the Teatro Marquina in Madrid. Additionally, a “Fila 0” has been set up to receive donations.

Three days earlier, in València, the singer-songwriter Esther from Vinaròs will perform a solidarity concert. Originally planned for shortly after the DANA (severe storm), the event was rescheduled as a benefit concert and will now take place at Sala 16 Toneladas on December 11 at 8:30 PM.

Lastly, the Teatro Olympia in Valencia will host the solidarity concert “Valencia Sings for Valencia” on December 15 at 8:00 PM. Renowned Valencian artists such as La Habitación Roja, Seguridad Social, Sole Giménez, Santero y los Muchachos, Revolver, and Los Zigarros, among others, will come together to offer an evening filled with emotion and solidarity for the people of Valencia. Tickets are already sold out, but contributions can still be made through a “Fila 0” with donations starting at 5 euros.

These initiatives demonstrate how music can become a vehicle for solidarity, bringing support and hope during challenging times—particularly in a region like Valencia, where the musical associative fabric is considered an intangible cultural heritage at the national level.
