Forty-two inter-association projects receive grants for recovery after the DANA
The call for proposals “Transformem en Xarxa” has allocated a total of 200,000 euros to initiatives focused on social development, environmental preservation and support for dependent persons

Through these projects, the strengthening of community networks is promoted, essential for the recovery and social development of the affected areas
February 12, 2026 – Forty-two projects promoted by a total of 117 associations will continue advancing recovery and social and economic development after the DANA. Most of the initiatives will focus on l’Horta Sud, although some will also be centred in the counties of Utiel-Requena and Camp de Túria.
These initiatives, במסגרת the call for proposals “Transformem en Xarxa”, promoted by sixteen entities and which continues the “Grants for Projects that Change the World”, will address the needs of citizens in the affected municipalities from different perspectives. These include cultural and social development initiatives as tools for reactivating social life in the municipalities; environmental and natural heritage preservation initiatives, especially those linked to the recovery of flora and ecosystems affected by the DANA, particularly in the two natural parks of l’Horta Sud; the empowerment of children and young people as agents of the present and future of society, essential in structuring post-DANA municipalities; and support for vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities and older people, especially affected by issues such as the digital divide and the obligation to interact with public administrations online.
With this 200,000-euro call, a total of 500,000 euros have been allocated to “Transformem en Xarxa” projects between 2025 and 2026. In both cases, the calls have promoted compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and networking, requiring the involvement of at least two non-profit entities in each project.
In this way, according to the promoting entities, “the strengthening of community networks is fostered, which are essential for the recovery and social development of the affected areas.” Specifically, a total of 325 non-profit associations have worked in network across the two calls to make the 111 selected projects possible.
This year, the call also stands out for the joint work of sixteen entities of different types and scopes that have made it possible. Alongside the local entities Fundació Horta Sud, Caixa Popular, Grupo Ugarte, Florida Universitària, Lacomunicación, Milar-Comelsa and COEESCV, nine major foundations at the national level committed to the development of the areas affected by the DANA have joined the initiative. Specifically, these are: Fundación ADEY, Fundación Juan Entrecanales de Azcárate, Fundación Banco Sabadell, Fundación Bosch Aymerich, Fundación Caja Navarra, Fundación Gutiérrez Manrique (Fundación Caja de Burgos), Fundación Mediterráneo, Fundación Roviralta and Fundación Daniel & Nina Carasso.
All these foundations have signed a historic alliance at the national level, materialised through networking with entities in the affected territory in order to maximise impact and respond to the real needs of citizens through local action.
