The floods affects 27,600 companies and causes losses of 53 million euros in the province of Valencia

13 Desember de 2024 -The DANA that has hit l’Horta Sud has had a devastating impact on the business fabric, affecting 27,600 companies in the region, of which 12,500 are located in zone zero, formed by municipalities such as Alaquàs, Albal, Catarroja, Sedaví and others. These figures represent 15.6% of the companies in the province of Valencia and 21.3% of its industry.

Likewise, it is estimated that the potentially affected production in the province of Valencia exceeds 53 million euros, and more than one million workers in affected areas have seen their activity compromised.

The impact has also been particularly serious in the associative fabric, with more than 50% of the associations directly affected, and in the 69 business areas of the region, which represent 10% of the industry of the Valencian Community.

In view of this situation, the Fundación Huerta Sur has met with the Foro Empresarial de l’Horta Sud to analyze the damages and study possible joint actions to support the damaged companies and associations.
