The Fallas solidarity campaign surpasses 115,000 euros for commissions affected by the floods

May 9, 2025 – It has now been over a month since the 2025 Fallas celebrations, festivities that were especially challenging for dozens of commissions affected by the DANA. Even so, the spirit of brotherhood and the solidarity response from the fallero community and the public made it possible to celebrate with hope and enthusiasm.

One of the main driving forces behind this wave of solidarity has been the SOM project, promoted by the Convent de Jerusalén falla, the Junta Comarcal Fallera de l’Horta Sud, the Junta Local Fallera de Torrent, the Agrupación de Fallas de Mislata, the Maestro Gozalbo-Conde Altea falla, the Pòlvora a la Vespra collective, the Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud, and the Fundació Horta Sud.

As part of this project, the Foundation launched its own solidarity campaign “Agermanem-nos”, through which we distributed 50,000 euros among 70 affected fallero commissions, proportionally to the damages suffered.

Amstel, for its part, has launched the initiative “Feta de Germanor”, through which it has carried out various symbolic actions such as the simultaneous mascletà in several affected towns and the Germanor Fest festival, held in Torrent, which raised €50,000 that will be channeled through the Foundation. In addition, the brand from the HEINEKEN group has presented the solidarity song “Mi tierra, feta de germanor”, born from the collaboration between several participating artists such as Varry Brava, La Casa Azul, La Habitación Roja, and the family of Nino Bravo. The profits obtained from streams of this song until the end of the year, both on Spotify and YouTube, will also be entirely dedicated to the reconstruction of the fallas in the areas affected by the DANA storm.

Other initiatives, such as the campaign launched by the newspaper Levante-EMV during Fallas Week, have contributed an additional €10,000.

The solidarity network also extended from neighborhoods and towns affected. In Alaquàs, the association Cor de Vila organized a charity hot chocolate event that raised 450 euros for the three affected fallas in the municipality. And in Torrent, the Falla Avinguda collaborated with an exhibition of official attire of the local Fallera Mayors.

In total, the affected fallas will receive, for now, more than 115,000 euros from campaigns and donations. This amount will be added to the almost 500,000 euros in direct aid that the Foundation had already granted earlier to the fallero commissions to address the damage caused by the DANA, but it still does not cover the full extent of the losses declared by these associations. For this reason, the campaign remains open, and donations are still welcome.

Likewise, the impact of other solidarity actions is yet to be assessed, such as the llibret of the Falla Som, which pays tribute to the affected municipalities and can be purchased with a donation, the funds raised from the ninot exhibition in Dénia, and various charity concerts and dance events.

Despite the adversities, the 2025 Fallas have left a powerful lesson in solidarity and resilience. The associative and fallero community has once again demonstrated that, when it comes to protecting what unites us, the collective response is always up to the challenge.
