Sandra Monfort, promoter of the initiative Som València, visits the Foundation

The Valencian singer has sent a very special thanks to all the people who have participated in Som València and a big hug to those affected by the DANA

5th february 2024 – The singer and promoter of the initiative Som València, Sandra Monfort, has visited today our headquarters to know first-hand the work that we are doing to make visible and reactivate the associative fabric after the DANA.

From the Fundació team we have explained how we are helping the associations of the region through the Plan for the recovery and transformation of the associative fabric of l’Horta Sud, which aims to build citizenship and strengthen the associative fabric and to structure the territory and revitalise the region.

To this end, we are distributing direct aid to ensure that no association shuts down, listening carefully to the needs of the associations, and continuing to mobilize resources to keep making it possible.

The singer explained that ‘Som València arose to be able to help all those affected by the passage of the DANA through music and she thanked all the people who have participated, from the venues and the ticket sellers, to the artists.

‘We got together a lot of influential people in the music world and decided to do concerts all over the country to raise funds to give to all the people affected. We created a beautiful team of hard-working and talented people who, through their will, organised more than 400 concerts,’ he added.

Monfort chose the Fundació to channel the donations because ‘it gave me a lot of confidence and I thought we could do a great job supporting the associative movement’.

From the Foundation, we would like to thank you for your visit and for all the work you have done to carry out this initiative, which was launched in record time and raised more than 450,000 euros. Thanks to the collaboration between Som València and the Fundació Horta Sud, 105 associations in the region of l’Horta Sud have received €457,636.
