Present at the CE/R+S forum that brings together companies and social entities

May 23, 2025 – Yesterday we took part in the first edition of SocialTalks, a meeting space to share the need for collaboration between companies and organizations for a more resilient reconstruction after the DANA.
The initiative was driven by CE/R+S Club of Responsible and Sustainable Companies of the Valencian Community, Dinapsis, and Hidraqua, and it brought together expert and committed voices to reflect on the lessons learned from the disaster, how to build alliances, and how to combine capacities to anticipate risks and face the challenges of the present and future.
Also participating in the event were Caixa Popular, Fundación Felisa, and the Valencian Coordinator of NGOs for Development.
Joining forces
The director of the Horta Sud Community Foundation, Julio Huerta, emphasized during his speech that “we cannot normalize situations that are not normal seven months later, because the situation is still very serious and we have struggled to grasp its scope from the beginning” and pointed out that “companies and civil society share territory, resources, people, and future challenges, so we must assume that it is not possible to face them individually.” He also highlighted the importance of improving coordination between the three main actors: public administration, business, and civil society.
To move forward, Huerta proposed a series of actions, such as the renaturalization of school playgrounds, cleaning and reforesting the two natural parks, creating green municipalities, bike lanes, dignifying and strengthening social organizations, rehabilitating four community spaces, reinforcing work with the elderly, etc., while calling on all social organizations to think about “a single, shared project that allows us to join forces.”
