Participatory process to imagine community and resilient spaces

June 30, 2025 – The DANA once again made it clear that, when the territory suffers, associations are key to channeling solidarity. But it also showed that we need to be better prepared, more connected, and better organized.

That’s why, after a process of active listening with all the affected organizations, we reaffirm that it is essential to create a network of associations for action and solidarity in l’Horta Sud. A network that functions in emergencies, but also throughout the year to strengthen collaboration between organizations, share knowledge, and be in a better position to act when needed.

We know this network must include shared community spaces, distributed across the territory: active and accessible local venues where we can meet, learn, organize activities, and build connections.

A place for meeting, coordination and training among the entities that, by joining this network, sign a pact of solidarity in case of catastrophe with the commitment to renew it every year.

With this goal in mind, we have launched a participatory process to rethink these spaces together, and we want to rely on the experience of associations to define how they should be. Accompanying us in this journey is Daniel Millor, architect, activist, and 2024 Princess of Girona Social Award winner, with whom we will imagine new models of coexistence and shared use. The process will consist of two sessions, and the first will take place on Thursday, July 10 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Museu Comarcal de l’Horta Sud.

Registration is individual. If more than one person from your organization will attend, please complete one form per person, as the venue capacity is limited according to the characteristics of the space where the process will take place.
