More than €457,000 haven been distribute to the associative network thanks to the Som València initiative
This second batch of aid has benefited 105 associations from l’Horta Sud and other regions

16th january 2024 – Thanks to the total collection of the initiative Som València, we have made effective the second batch of aids destined to the associations affected by the DANA. This second delivery amounts to a total of 457.636 € and has reached 105 associations, having a direct impact on the life of 21.759 associated people and 19.259 regular users. With this contribution, the total amount granted by the Foundation to the associative movement now exceeds one million euros.
The aid, which covers up to 20% of the damage declared by each organisation, with a maximum of €20,000 and a minimum of €600 per association, has made it possible to support both associations in l’Horta Sur and other regions affected by the DANA, demonstrating the territorial scope and solidarity of the initiative.
In terms of areas of action, entities dedicated to the promotion and encouragement of culture have received 198,000 €, more than 185,000 € for festivals and traditions, 22,000 € for sports associations, and around 12,000 € for associations for the elderly. By municipalities, Catarroja was the main beneficiary with 92,720 €, followed by Paiporta with 77,450 €, Aldaia with 64,642 € and Albal with 35,650 €.
According to data collected in recent weeks, these associations reported material losses of almost €3 million. The main damage reported is concentrated in infrastructure (€1,081,000), equipment (€738,000), furniture (€434,000), rent (€190,803) and technical equipment (€160,000), among others. It is therefore essential to prioritise the delivery of direct financial aid to restore this material damage initially, and then to complement this support with aid for the implementation of specific projects that are already being designed. Thus, this second batch of aid allows us to continue supporting the associative fabric and contribute to the recovery of social life in l’Horta Sud.
From the Foundation we would like to thank the organisation of the Somos València initiative, the artists who have participated selflessly, as well as all the people who have bought tickets or have collaborated through Fila 0. Thanks to the Somos València initiative, which has organised several solidarity concerts with the participation of 481 artists and the sale of more than 26,700 tickets, solidarity has been mobilised beyond the Valencian territory. Without this massive support and solidarity, the recovery of the associative fabric would not be possible.
In addition, we confirm that some associations have already been able to partially recover their activity thanks, in part, to the first batch of aid, while other entities have received support for the first time in this second phase. We would also like to remind you that the diagnostic form (https://bit.ly/formularidana) for associations is still open, as a third batch of direct aid is planned.
