Sixty-nine nonprofit projects for recovery after the DANA will receive grants from the «Transformem en xarxa» call

More than 220 nonprofit entities will participate in the 69 selected projects

June 10, 2025 – The associative fabric remains committed to the recovery and transformation of areas affected by the DANA with a collective approach and a people-centered focus. This is demonstrated by the resolution of the «Transformem en Xarxa» call, promoted by Fundació Horta Sud along with Caixa Popular, Grupo Ugarte Automoción, Fundación Telefónica, Florida Universitària, Lacomunicación, and Milar-Comelsa, which received more than a hundred submitted projects.

Specifically, the call has allocated €300,000 among 69 projects, which will be carried out in a network by a total of 224 nonprofit entities (3 entities on average per project). Among the beneficiary projects are initiatives for the emotional recovery of citizens after the DANA, the preservation and improvement of natural parks and other affected ecosystems, social engagement for migrants, youth, women or the elderly, and the social inclusion of people with disabilities. 

Driving Entities
On the other hand, the driving entities have also emphasized the indispensable role of organized civil society in the recovery of the towns and cities affected. In this regard, Paco Alós, Director of CSR and Institutional Relations at Caixa Popular, highlighted that recovery after the DANA “requires actions in infrastructure, but also the revitalization of municipalities, the rebuilding of community spirit, and uniting citizens around a collective vision for the future.” This key aspect is further complemented, according to Luis Prendes, Director General of Fundación Telefónica, by “the importance of a shared project that seeks consensus in order to achieve the common good.”

In line with this, the jury of the call also included participation from, besides the representatives of the promoting entities and companies, the Spanish Association of Foundations and the Fundación Movimiento Ciudadano de Manises. Additionally, local municipalities were kept informed about the call, and according to Fundació Horta Sud, “various mayors and technical staff, as well as the Mancomunitat Horta Sud, informed entities about the grants and even accompanied them in the project submission process.”
